Please allow 1 hour for your initial appointment. Often there will be investigations and treatments done in the rooms prior to, and once you have seen the doctor. We appreciate your time is valuable but occasionally an emergency case must take priority. We apologise for any inconvenience this delay may cause you, but it is our aim to be on time.

After Hours Care

For all emergencies outside of practice hours please contact your local doctor or attend the emergency department at either the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Flinders Medical Centre or the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Payment of Accounts

Harley Eye Clinic is a private billing practice, we do not bulk-bill. You will incur a co-payment above the Medicare rebate. We require all accounts to be paid in full at the time of your consultation. Our reception staff will lodge your account electronically to Medicare to claim your rebate. If you have registered your bank account details with Medicare you will receive your rebate within 24 to 48 hours. We accept Cash, Private Cheques, and Credit Cards (no American Express or Diners Club).

There are some procedures and treatments that are not claimable through Medicare or your Private Health Fund. This will be an additional out-of-pocket expense to you on the day. Please speak to the doctor or nurse before proceeding.

Email

Harley Eye Clinic has an email address, receptionna@harleyeyeclinic.au, that referring practitioners and patients can use to send referrals, reports and simple communications to their treating doctor. While we will make every effort to keep your information secure, we would like to remind you that any communication by electronic medium can be compromised and accessed by outside entities to this practice. If you choose to use email to communicate with us, you do so at your own risk.

For all urgent enquiries or to make an appointment please phone our reception staff at one of the above clinics.

Telephone Calls

You may leave a phone message for your treating doctor with our reception staff but please bear in mind that it is not always possible for this to be attended to by the doctor on the same day. Our staff will indicate to you when your doctor will be able to return your call, or alternatively if you need an appointment.

Reminder/Recall System

Harley Eye Clinic offers a recall system for patients requiring regular follow-up appointments at 9 months, 12 months and 2 years. A letter will be sent to you as a reminder that it is time to call and make your next appointment.

Prescriptions

It is important that you keep track of your eye medication. Ideally, while you are in with the doctor ask for another prescription for drops/ointment. If you fail to do this on the day of your consultation a stamped self-addressed envelope along with your request will need to be sent to the clinic. Your file will be pulled and the doctor will attend to this at his earliest convenience and your script posted back to you. Alternatively, you are welcome to pick up your prescription from one of the clinics.

Mobile Phone Policy

Due to the nature of the procedures performed here at Harley Eye Clinic the doctors ask that you please turn off your mobile phone at all times while you are in attendance. If you need to make an urgent call this can be done outside of the clinic.

Your Privacy

It is our policy here at Harley Eye Clinic to maintain the privacy of your personal health information as all times. No information will be given to a third party without your written consent.
